3 down, 47 to go!

Hooray! This just in:

Conn. High Court Rules Same-Sex Couples Can Marry

These things take time, but they do happen and will continue to happen. Some day, even Texas and Alaska will be on board, and anti-gay and anti-equality policies and laws will be seen as old-fashioned and narrow-minded.

Also, regarding this issue, I was very disappointed with how Joe Biden handled this question in the VP debate. Yes, I realize that there are virtually no major party leaders that support a constitutional amendment to allow gay marriage. But Biden's and Palin's attitudes towards gay rights and issues differ in significant ways. Check out this Human Rights Campaign video:

In other happy news the Phillies beat the Dodgers 3-2 last night! I'm calling for a Rays-Phillies World Series with the Phillies going all the way!

and not only Biden, but Obama also. I was actually surprised. Will HRC still endorse them? hehe. actually, I would be interested to see their response, if any.

The HRC wholeheartedly endorses Obama and Biden because unlike McCain and Palin, Obama supports LGBT being protected under hate crime laws, supports gays being allowed to adopt children, opposes Dont' Ask Don't Tell, and has commended the states that have legalized gay marriage. These are very important issues to some people. I see absolutely no reason why a loving couple should not be allowed to adopt children, especially a couple that already has children of their own and has the love and resources to be parents to a child who needs parents. McCain and Palin are pretty senseless and bigoted when it comes to that issue.

but I thought biden said their ticket opposes gay marriage?

They oppose federal gay marriage. With a few exceptions (e.g., Barney Frank I'm guessing) no major politician supports redefining federal marriage. State and federal marriage laws are different. But someday we'll get there!
